This article presents the results of a specific sociological study of the interests and needs of miners of a gold ore enterprise in the field of physical culture and sports. The article studies the system of industrial physical culture at the enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan, after its collapse, and investigates the interests and needs of miners in the field of physical culture and sports, working in a market economy. It is noted that the negative dynamics in the manufacturing industry is mainly associated with a decrease in labor productivity in metallurgy, which occupies more than 40% in the industry. The forms of organization of physical education and sports are presented, depending on social factors, including individual needs in a certain motor activity. The content of events held in sports facilities of the city and the degree of participation of miners have been determined. It has been established that the bulk of blue-collar occupations are left without participation. The forms of organization of physical culture and health improvement work, complicated by the tasks of the modern development of physical culture movement, oriented to market relations, do not contribute to a more effective and complete satisfaction of interests and needs in the field of physical culture and sports.
