The way of karate — from ancient traditions to modernreality of martial arts

Abstract

The purpose of the study was a reasoned justification that the decision of the International Olympic Committee on the participation of another martial arts of the East (karate) in the Games of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo on the technical basis of two international federations - the World and All-Japan, turned out to be somewhat premature. The research was carried out by studying and analyzing the literature and research data available in the world practice related to the repeated attempts of karate adherents to enter the Olympic family, as well as the reasons why karate is still left out of the World Olympiads today. The formation of conclusions and recommendations is presented based on the materials of relevant studies aimed at the further development of sports karate not only on a global, but also on an Olympic scale.
