Abstract

In this article, the authors analyze the development of rock climbing in the Republic of Kazakhstan as one of the promising directions in the development of active types of tourism. Based on the data provided by the Federation of Alpinism and Sport Climbing of the country, the problems of rock climbing in various regions are investigated. The article also presents statistical data describing the number of climbing sections, clubs and departments in Kazakhstan. The authors have identified a tendency to change the rules and requirements of rock climbing from sports tourism and alpinism. The article will be useful for people engaged in rock climbing, active and mountain types of tourism, tourism instructors, methodologists of youth tourism stations, teachers of additional education to familiarize themselves with the current state of rock climbing in the Republic of Kazakhstan and can be used in teaching disciplines of active types of tourism in higher educational institutions.
