The article presents research material, the purpose of which was to determine the level of information content and the appropriateness of the application (use) of the PWC170 test in power sports (weightlifting, powerlifting, kettlebell lifting). The level of general working capacity, established with the help of the PWC170 test, and its correspondence to the level of sports qualification of athletes in power sports were determined. The level of correlation of general working capacity with such indicators as the age of athletes and their own weight (body weight) was revealed. 96 athletes took part in the study. Based on the obtained data of the relationship, using correlation analysis, it was concluded that the use of the PWC170 test in weightlifting and powerlifting is inappropriate. In kettlebell lifting, the use of the PWC170 test, both when testing with a bicycle ergometer and when testing with a step platform, makes it possible to fairly informatively judge the general performance of athletes in conjunction with sports qualifications.
