Level of readiness of Kazakh specialists in physical education and sport for scientific and innovative activities

The article presents material the purpose of which was to determine the level of readiness of Kazakh specialists in physical education and sports for scientific and innovative activities. A diagnosis of self-assessment of the readiness of physical sport and sport specialists for scientific and innovative activities was carried out based on a questionnaire. Based on the analysis of publications in the journal “Theory and Methodology of Physical Education” and monitoring of the editorial activities of the journal, the level of scientific and innovative activity of specialists has been determined. The analysis of the work of the dissertation council in the direction of “Physical Education and Sport” at the Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism was carried out. The analysis made it possible to conclude that there is a significant discrepancy in the level of self-esteem and the actual readiness of specialists for scientific and innovative activities. The concept of “innovation” is formulated and promising directions of innovative activity in physical education and sports are identified.
