70 years of the factory of records in Medeu

Abstract

The article is devoted to the history of the high-altitude skating rink, and later – a sports complex (АSС), located in the Medeu tract, near Almaty. It summarizes the most important theoretical and practical issues of conducting sports competitions at the Medeu high-altitude sports complex from a scientific and historical point of view, since February 1951. The results of the first starts on natural and artificial ice, as well as the current position of this unique sports facility, which is a national treasure of the country, are considered. It is reported about the highest world achievements that took place thanks to the Medeu and the contribution of Medeu to the development of world and Kazakhstan speed skating. The analysis of the long-term activities of various international organizations aimed, among other things, at discrediting the alpine skating rink and the sports complex in the Medeu tract is carried out.
