The article is devoted to the analysis of the problems of development of cultural tourism in Central Asia as an important element of cross-border cooperation in the region. The work examines the features of the organization of tourism activities in cross-border regions, analyzes the conditions and opportunities for the development of cultural tourism in them, and identifies problems that impede its effective growth. It is concluded that it is necessary to consolidate the efforts of the Central Asian countries in creating high-quality tourism products in cross-border regions that have powerful potential in terms of forming a unique tourism brand as the basis for further integration of countries at a new level. The author focuses on the need to train highly qualified personnel to service large tourist flows, the need for further development of tourism, information, and transport infrastructure in the cross-border region.
