The Regional component in tourism

The article analyzes the current state of tourism and identifies promising areas of tourism in the postpandemic
period. Also, the research characterizes the modern aspects of projects in the field of tourism in
Kazakhstan. It is necessary to highlight those epidemiological challenges have influenced the development
of domestic tourism. That is why it is important to study, analyze, and monitor the functioning of tourism sphere
at the regional level. In the regions of Kazakhstan this field is represented by numerous and at the same time
diverse areas which increase the competitiveness of the domestic tourism product. The goal of our research
is to study tourism projects as the basis of domestic (national) tourism in Kazakhstan (on the example of West
Kazakhstan region of the Republic of Kazakhstan). There are several methods of analysis implemented in
present research: comparative, systemic and statistical. As for results, the authors mention that they study
domestic tourism as a resource that ensures regional development. An analysis of the regional development
of tourism is based on a mixed approach combining a literature review and data analysis. Also article
presents the detalization of domestic tourism aspects. The main trends and shifts in the market of domestic
tourism are revealed in the article as well. Moreover, authors identify types of tourism in the West Kazakhstan
region. Target groups, features, trends, main participants, objects are characterized by types of tourism. In
the conclusion authors find out that the region has all the opportunities for the development of domestic
tourism which affects the sustainable development of the region. The results of the study contribute to the
theory and methodology of the issue. The relevance of the article is determined by the focus of research
- development of the regional tourist potential. This process requires an assessment of current trends in the
tourism market, which is an indicator of the development of the industry.
