Abstract

The article defines the initial level of competencies of physical education teachers. It was revealed that the lowest level of competence of physical education teachers was observed in the components of its activity in the conditions of the updated content of education, namely, setting goals and objectives; implementing teaching methods; forming the components of the program; evaluating students; revealing mental abilities. Contradictions in the design of planning documents by teachers of physical culture are revealed. In the long term, this is an inadequate adequacy in the formulation of training according to the topics. In the medium term, this is according to such components as. The language purpose of teaching (there is no clarity of speech forms for their presentation by students). Subject vocabulary and terminology (all phrases for dialogue with students are not taken into account). Useful phrases for dialogue (there are no leading questions for dialogue with students). In the short term: the objectives of the lesson; achievement criteria (especially for their independent development, in addition to those provided in the methodological recommendations; language goals; differentiation of tasks for students). The initial degree of motivation of secondary school students to physical education is determined. The lion's share of respondents revealed a negative attitude and low motivation for physical education. A third of respondents expressed a positive attitude to physical culture. The lowest values of motivation among the students were observed at its highest and highest levels.
