The article identifies factors that determine the characteristics of training students of national sports teams in universities of Western Kazakhstan. Criteria for the effectiveness of training student teams in sports have been determined. Namely, the source of funding; availability of material and technical base; team recruitment system; planning annual macrocycles in coordination with the schedule of the educational process, depending on the sessions; building a competition calendar. The structure and content of the staging of student sports at universities in Western Kazakhstan has been studied. At all universities, sporting events are implemented at the expense of the university. The smallest number of participants in sports sections is observed at the Kh. Dosmukhamedov AU. Problems that arise among university students when playing sports have been identified. This is a lack of desire to engage in one of the sports. Addiction to sports training. Undesirable class schedule. Low technical capabilities of universities; lack of necessary specialists in sports. The levels of physical fitness and physical performance of students of national teams of universities in Western Kazakhstan were determined. Both boys and girls showed a positive relationship between PWC170 and standing long jump; the intensity of the second work and the 1000 and 800 m run; Heart rate for 30 seconds after the second work and running at 1000 and 800 m.
