The article presents a differentiated approach to the choice of massage techniques for highly qualified powerlifters, based on an assessment of the autonomic support for the functioning of the cardiovascular system and taking into account the mechanisms of adaptation of the athletes' body to the loads of the pre-competition period of the training process. The results of adaptive changes in the regulatory processes of the heart rate of highly qualified athletes that occurred after applying a massage course are presented. The study involved highly qualified powerlifters (candidate master of sports, master of sports, master of sports of international class), boys aged 19-20 years. Main research methods: assessment of the functional state of heart rhythm regulation (cardiointervalography according to R.M. Baevsky; spectral analysis of heart rhythm). The study of the regulation of the heart rhythm of highly qualified powerlifters allows us to monitor the condition of athletes in the pre-competition training period with a high degree of reliability.
