Abstract

The article presents an analysis of the health status of first-year students at the NAO "Medical University of Astana" using the "Express Health Assessment" method by G.L. Apanasenko. Based on the results of the assessment, students were categorized into five health levels: low, below average, average, above average, and high. The study revealed that 40.6% of male and 55.0% of female students have a low level of health, necessitating a revision of the "Physical Education" curriculum to incorporate a differentiated approach. To analyze the health status of students with chronic illnesses, medical certificates for physical education clearance were examined. The analysis of these certificates helped determine the nature and frequency of illnesses, which can be considered when developing approaches to organizing physical activity sessions. It was found that only one in ten students has absolute contraindications to physical activity during classes.
