Abstract

The article emphasizes the importance of physical training in boxing and draws attention to its distinctive features (the presence of shock movements, which, as a rule, require the manifestation of maximum speed-strength qualities) in comparison with such a sport as wrestling. It has been shown that striking is most closely related to the psychological side of activity in boxing. The ability to endure the pain of blows, the ability to overcome the fear of getting a knockdown, and even more so a knockout, the manifestation of stress resistance to various confounding factors are closely related both to the emotional-volitional processes of the personality and to other psychological variables. In this regard, the formation and development of these mental variables should be given the closest attention in the training and competitive process of boxers. The aforesaid conditioned the development of a methodology for the development of physical qualities, taking into account in the process of training the manifestation of the most significant psychological properties for boxers, which characterize the special structure of the personality. To prove the reliability of the method, an expert assessment was used using the concordance coefficient and the χ2-square. criterion.
