Development of Olympic education of schoolchildren

The article reviews the scientific literature on the problem of the development of Olympic education
of schoolchildren. Revealing the relevance of the research work, it is emphasized that the need for the
Olympic education in the educational process at schools is increas ing due to the need for healthy
people in the society. According to the authors, the introduction of Olympic education at school affects
physical improvement as well as the formation of an individual. The analysis of pedagogical and scientific
literature showed that certain scientific researches have been made on the given issue. A review of
the foreign and Kazakh scientists’ works showed the development of Olympism and Olympic education.
Relying on the researches of scientists, the authors tried to reveal the importance of the Olympic
education, its essence, goals and objectives. Scientists define that the main aim of Olympic education
is education of Olympic values and ideals in schoolchildren. At the same time, the authors tried to reveal the foreign experience of the introduction of Olympic education in schools.
