The article examines and analyzes the importance of physical culture and sports in the understanding of young people who have entered the first year and are already studying at a medical university. The authors decided to find out how much modern medical university students are aware of the need for physical activity and whether they have a need for physical culture and sports, especially in their free time. A questionnaire was compiled, which included questions starting with the simplest morning gymnastics and ending with the application of the acquired knowledge in the field of physical culture and sports in the future profession. Students of all courses recognize the positive impact of physical activity on health, and accept it as part of a healthy lifestyle. Despite this, the free time of students is not filled with physical education and sports. The article attempts to analyze the reasons for the refusal of physical activity.
