Abstract

The authors of the article consider practice-oriented training through the system of students’ step-by-step involvement in the process of cognition of fundamental subject knowledge by means of mastering technologies of their qualitative and quantitative selection, systematization and evaluation of their reliability, through using of a complex of forms and methods of education, that promote professional competences: development of individual strategies and tactics, decision-making in situations of professional activity, ability to reflect and professional self-actualization. Nowadays educational institutions of the country are waiting for graduates in physical education and sport not just with good theoretical training, but for teachers who have the proper degree of professional competence. Therefore, educational process in higher education should be organized in such a way that all conditions are created for students to perform certain types of work related to their future professional activities. The basis of such educational process is practice-oriented teaching. The article deals with three main approaches that differ in students and teachers’ functions in the system of practice-oriented education: practice-oriented education when students are immersed in professional environment during academic, industrial and undergraduate practice; use of professionally oriented methods for modeling future professional activities on the basis of contextual study possibilities of core and non-core disciplines and learning technologies in practice-oriented approach; combination of fundamental education and vocational training.
