Emotional intelligence as a factor in the effectiveness of the coach

The article deals with the issues of studying emotional intelligence in the general scientific and pedagogical sphere, the activity of a coach in a specific sports field. During the theoretical analysis of the research, psychological, pedagogical and personal characteristics were described, the society's view in building a healthy lifestyle, training of specialists in physical culture and sports, emotional intelligence was determined as the main quality in the professional activity of a coach. We analyzed the definitions of emotional intelligence, examined the characteristics of the components of emotional intelligence, indicators, signs, patterns of the m model. The models of emotional intelligence in four main directions are considered, their content features and methodological capabilities are characterized. The theoretical analysis revealed the features, capabilities and necessary qualities in the professional activity of the coach and the determination of the level of emotional intelligence. During an empirical study by first-year undergraduates of the specialty physical culture and sports, a methodological study was conducted based on the test of D.V. Lyusin, a qualitative analysis of the results obtained was carried out and indicators were determined. In accordance with the general results obtained, conclusions and brief recommendations were given.
