Abstract

The digitalization of the global economy and the transformation of the employment system, with some functions and jobs now performed remotely, have led to the emergence of digital nomad tourism. This category of tourists combines remote professional work with extended stays abroad, thereby generating a steady demand for food, accommodation, other infrastructure, and institutional support. This article aims to analyze the prospects for digital nomad tourism development in Kazakhstan, identify competitive advantages in the tourism industry, and identify institutional barriers and opportunities for government support. The study utilizes comparative analysis, institutional, and systemic approaches. It is established that Kazakhstan's high natural and cultural potential allows the country to become a regional hub for digital nomads in Central Asia, provided visa requirements are improved and digital and tourism infrastructure is developed.
