Abstract

This article examines the results of a study on the physical fitness of middle school students in general education schools of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The relevance of the topic is determined by the need to improve the physical education system for schoolchildren within the framework of implementing legal and strategic documents aimed at developing physical culture and sports (e.g., the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Physical Culture and Sports" dated July 3, 2014, No. 228-V ZRK; the Concept for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023–2029, among others). The study analyzed modern approaches to assessing the physical fitness levels of children and adolescents, as well as identified factors influencing their motivation to engage in physical activity. The results obtained can be used in the development and implementation of programs to enhance students' physical activity and optimize the educational process in general education institutions.
