Abstract

The border territories of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have significant tourist and recreational potential due to their rich natural, cultural and historical resources. However, the effective use of these resources faces a number of challenges, including infrastructural constraints and environmental issues. This article provides an assessment of the current state of tourism in these border regions, identifies key issues and suggests promising areas for the development of sustainable tourism and cross-border cooperation. By developing cross-border cooperation, improving infrastructure, and promoting sustainable tourism practices, these regions can increase their attractiveness and competitiveness in the global tourism market. The purpose of this article is to provide an in-depth assessment of the current state of tourism in the border regions of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, analyze the key issues limiting its growth, and offer strategic recommendations for fully unlocking the potential of these territories.
