The article examines the peculiarities of using key terms in the field of physical culture and sports in Russian and Kazakh, taking into account their semantic correspondence. The authors emphasize the importance of correct terminology usage in the training of specialists, in the educational process, and in scientific research. The origin and development of terms in the Kazakh language are highlighted, with references to the first textbooks, manuals, and scholarly publications addressing this issue. Examples of methodological materials used in school physical education classes are provided, indicating their authors and years of publication. Measures undertaken since 2012 to regulate terminology are discussed, and a critical assessment is given of its application in dictionaries and in the Law “On Physical Culture and Sports.” Finally, proposals are made for improving the consistent use of terminology in the theory and practice of physical culture and sports.
